Accessibility at Cairngorm Lodges

Cairngorm Lodges
29 May

Cairngorm Lodges want to ensure the needs of individual guests are met and ask that guests discuss their particular requirements prior to booking to ensure they can be comfortably accommodated with us.

Guests can drive along the forest track, suitable for all cars, and park directly outside their chosen lodge or cabin. Should we encounter heavy snowfall it may necessary to park at the entrance to Cairngorm Lodges and walk to individual lodges until the tracks can be snow ploughed.

Guests are met on arrival by their own dedicated host who will show them round their chosen lodge and provide instructions on how to operate all the facilities. They are given contact information for their host and Sarah, who they can contact at any time during their stay, should they require any kind of assistance.

Access directly into the lodge:

From the parking area there is a ramp, suitable for wheelchairs, which leads you onto the decking area outside the lodge and directly to the lodge door. Please note this is not the case for Woodcutters Cabin which has no wheelchair access and there is a step up into the cabin.

Flooring within the lodge:

The entrance vestibule is carpeted and the remainder of the lodge, except the shower room, is wooden flooring. There are no internal steps with the lodges, except Woodcutters Cabin which has a step down into the shower room. The floor of the shower room is linoleum.

Emergency lodge lighting:

All lodges have emergency lighting which will allow guests to safely exit the lodges in the event of a power failure. Torches are also provided in each lodge.

If required we can remove or rearrange furniture to suit individual guests needs. We simply   ask that this is discussed prior to arrival to ensure a smooth and speedy check in. Handles on door and furniture are easy to grip and manipulate.

Shower room:

It should be noted that there are no grab rails in the bathroom, either beside the toilet or within the shower. Guests are welcome to bring a toilet raiser if required. The shower is of a triangular enclosed design which will not accommodate a wheelchair. We can however place a small chair in the shower for guests to sit on while showering.

All lodges are non-smoking.

All lodges accept dogs, we simply ask that you book them in like human guests, so we know to expect them.
