The icing on your Cairngorms’ cake

For those of you who have never visited Aberdeenshire I can assure you that it gets rather cold in the winter (well…not just the winter) which why our lodges are perfect for those who love a bit of winter shredding. There are an abundance of snowsport centres nearby to the lodges so you can choose from dry slopes of the Aberdeen Snowsports Centre and Alford Ski Centre or the real snow on The Lecht and at The Glenshee Ski and Snowboard Centre.

If skiing or snowboarding isn’t your thing then why don’t you try tubing or even organise a tubing party.Tubing is riding an inflatable ring down the slopes, dry or snow. Here’s a video:

Maybe you’re an experienced skier or snowboarder and your looking for a new challenge? Well why don’t you become a qualified instructor to share your passion and knowledge of snow-sports with others. You can find out about the different tiers and the dates of instructor courses here so you can time your holiday around those dates. Of if you’re looking to brush up on your skills then you each centre has a ski school where you can arrange private or group lesson.

Finally if you’ve forgotten your sallys then Aberdeen has a couple snow-sport clothing shops. There’s Granite Reef which can be found on the The Green or Borderline in McCombies Court and of course there’s TK Maxx, Tiso, Trespass, Nevisport and Cotswold Outdoor for you to choose from.
